Excelso is an original coffee and cafe brand from Indonesia which is part of the Kapal Api Group, the largest coffee producer in Indonesia. Apart from being available premium packaged coffee, Excelso also has a cafe which was first opened in September 1991 at Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. Excelso has developed into one of the most reputable cafes in Indonesia, and now has a network of more than 100 outlets and is present in more than 30 major cities in Indonesia.

How We Got Here
Starting from 1987
It all started when our founders got the trust to manage coffee plantations that "lost" after the Dutch left. The garden, which is located 1,500-1,700 meters above sea level, is located on the slopes of the Rante Karua hill, North Toraja, South Sulawesi. By prioritizing the involvement of the surrounding community, this garden is well managed from budding, maintenance, harvesting to post-harvest and is the embryo of the first and most proud variant we are proud of.
High attention to quality is not only focused on gardens in Toraja, the production process so that products can be consumed by consumers are also taken into account. Product technology uses the most advanced technology to ensure the best taste of coffee can be produced and packaged so that quality is maintained. The vision is clear, how coffee lovers from Sabang to Merauke can get the best quality products.
In 1991 September, the first outlet of the Excelso cafe was opened in Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. The name Excelso, which derives from the word excellent, was chosen to answer the desire of coffee lovers for high-quality coffee products. Kalosi Toraja, which is produced from its own garden in Toraja, is the first single origin offered.

Working closely with farmers and coffee processors in Toraja's gardens, local raw material suppliers and roasters who have the same passion and love for quality has always been the thing that gives us the most passion.
